A really great walk on a wet or windy day as the trees offer some shelter. In the Autumn, there are lots of leaves for those toddlers (and adults) to kick around and beautiful autumnal colours.
The best place to park is the car park at Trelissick Garden. You can use their toilets and stop for a cream tea or a spot of lunch before or after your walk. There might even be some wood bodging, archery, an apple day, or something else fun going on at Trelissick.
There are several options from Trelissick. You can either head down towards the beach and have a run around in the fields. Or head North into the woods, towards Lamouth Creek, Roundwood Quay and back again.
If your children are as obsessed by boats and ferries, as my nephew, you can take a ride on the King Harry Ferry across to The Roseland and back again. Pedestrians are free. Phil the ferryboat man might even let you on the bridge to watch him drive the boat!
