Geevor Tin Mine

Geevor Tin Mine

Located in Pendeen on the dramatic Cornish coastline, Geevor Tin Mine is one of the largest preserved mine sites in the country. A must visit – our families love it here. Whether it's sunny or wet there is so much to see and do at this multi- award winning attraction! And it’s been awarded The 2017 Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor!

Geevor was the last mine to work the world famous St. Just Mining District finally closing in 1990. Set in fantastic coastal scenery, Geevor is the largest complete mining site in Britain. Many of the coastal scenes from the BBC Poldark series were filmed around here!

With FREE all day parking, they offer many activities on site throughout the year that are FREE with site entry. See the website for details. Put your hard hat on and explore the mine, get interactive in the Hard Rock Museum, discover how the rock was mined and brought up from 2000 feet below the ground and even go underground! Have a go at panning for 'gold' and gems; take home what you find for FREE!

The Mine Shop stocks a huge variety of Cornish items, and the Count House Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food, including our world-famous pasties!
