We met when on holiday in Cornwall when we were ten. We grew up spending summers, easter holidays, half terms, as much time as we could persuade our parents to allow us on the beach in Cornwall. We spent hours in and out of the water, whatever the weather learning to sail, waterski, surf, fly kites, walk on the cliffs. Only on a very stormy day would be retreat inside to play scrabble or cards by the fire.
We became best of friends and pen pals. When we were not in Cornwall and back at home, we would pretend we were doing our homework whilst writing to each other several times a week.
As soon as we were old enough, we both secured holiday jobs in Cornwall so that we could continue to come down and spend our summers down here during sixth form and university holidays, working at the sailing club and waterski school. We really made the most of our time off, making some of our best friends (and Martha’s husband!) and doing as much with each day that we could.
Having graduated, we both started our careers in London and abroad.
Martha qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2004 and has 8 years experience in commercial property, relocating from London to Cornwall in 2006, and most recently working for a regeneration company. When moving to Cornwall, Martha bought a shed on a creek off the river Fal in an auction, which she lived in for 2 years before knocking down building a house.
Milly set up a chalet company in Morzine and has lots of experience in making sure holidays are amazing! She returned to Cornwall each summer, and settled here permanently in 2011. She has been renovating a cottage in Hayle.
As a team, Milly & Martha, offer an absolute love of holidaying in Cornwall and knowing what people want out of a place to stay, backed up with professional and practical expertise in property and a wealth of experience in the hospitality business, marketing and booking holidays.
